A real estate company, Estately, used Google Trends in attempt to find what people in each state google more than people in other states. The results were interesting, to say the least.

The WSJ’s China Real Time has produced this neat map of Beijing’s subway system, with the station names translated literally into English using the machine translation tool provided by Baidu. My favorite is “Magnetic Implement Intersection”. (Click map to see larger version.)

Map: A Century Of Earthquakes

This map shows a white dot for every earthquake in the last century that had a magnitude of at least 5 on the Richter Scale. The ten most powerful earthquakes in the last century are listed in green.

a century of earthquakesIt is frightening to think that here in Japan we live among a sea of white dots. Indeed, we had a small earthquake just last week which had an epicenter less than a mile away from our house.

Of course, we are all in God’s hands.
